Choose a Provider Type:

Physiatrists and Nurse Practitioners

A physiatrist is a physical medicine doctor who treats a variety of medical problems affecting nerves, bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and the brain & spinal cord. They evaluate and treat injured areas in order to treat the overall wellness of their patients. They focus on finding the root of the pain a patient may be experiencing to create a treatment plan for each individual. Physiatrists work with many other doctors to help patients find relief.

Jeffrey S. Meyers, M.D., L.Ac., FAAPMR

Interventional Pain Management/Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

An Interventional Physiatrist is a medical doctor that completed fellowship training in diagnostic and therapeutic pain procedures. They are able to perform specialized spinal injections and procedures to help treat various conditions. They utilize these skills and procedures in conjunction with treatments such as physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, and medications to manage various neurological and musculoskeletal problems.

Kartik Swaminathan, M.D., FAAPMR

Interventional Pain Management

A Pain Management Anesthesiologist is a medical doctor that completed a fellowship training in pain management and is Board Certified in Anesthesiology. They treat patients by administering complex injections using fluoroscopic guidance to help minimize pain to the patient.  Their treatments can be used along with additional treatment options to improve both neurological and musculoskeletal problems.

Pramod K. Yadhati, M.D.

Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative Medicine focuses on harnessing the body's natural healing processes to help repair damaged tissues, reduce pain, and improve function. These minimally invasive treatments are designed to promote healing rather than simply mask symptoms.

Our physicians evaluate each patient individually to determine whether regenerative therapies may be an appropriate treatment option for conditions involving joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles, and other musculoskeletal structures. Depending on the patient's condition and treatment goals, regenerative medicine may be incorporated into a comprehensive care plan alongside physical rehabilitation, interventional pain management, and other conservative therapies.

The goal of regenerative medicine is to help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, restore function, and return to the activities they enjoy while minimizing the need for more invasive treatments whenever appropriate.

Andrew Robinson, M.D., FAAOS

Neurology, Closed Head Injuries and Sleep Medicine

At Delaware Back Pain, Dr. Schumann, a double board-certified Neurologist, works collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to diagnose and treat complex conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, muscles, and sleep. By integrating neurological care with physical medicine, interventional pain management, rehabilitation, and other medical specialties, we provide comprehensive, patient-centered care that addresses the underlying cause of a patient's symptoms—not just the symptoms themselves.

Dr. Schumann evaluates and treats a wide range of neurological disorders, including headaches, dizziness, numbness, weakness, neuropathy, balance disorders, tremors, and memory or cognitive changes. He also specializes in the evaluation and management of closed head injuries, including concussions and other traumatic brain injuries resulting from motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, falls, and sports-related incidents. Through comprehensive neurological evaluations, advanced diagnostic testing when appropriate, and individualized treatment plans, our team helps patients recover safely, restore function, and improve their quality of life.

Because restorative sleep is essential for healing, pain management, and neurological recovery, our Sleep Medicine services focus on diagnosing and treating conditions such as insomnia, obstructive sleep apnea, excessive daytime sleepiness, restless sleep, and other disorders that may hinder recovery or contribute to chronic pain and fatigue. By offering these specialized services under one roof, Delaware Back Pain delivers coordinated care that helps patients heal more effectively, regain independence, and return to the activities that matter most.

Richard J. Schumann, M.D., ABPN

Chiropractors

A Chiropractor is trained to pinpoint the cause of your pain by doing a physical examination of your spine, and understanding exactly how the pain impacts your life. Once a diagnosis is determined, a highly individualized treatment of care can begin. Along with the more traditional Chiropractic treatments, our Chiropractors may also recommend more innovative treatment options, such as Laser Therapy or Acupuncture, as well as Rehabilitation Therapy to increase the rate of healing. Our Chiropractic staff and Rehabilitation therapists work together with our patients to relieve and eliminate pain for any injury.
