Interventional Procedures

For some patients, there may be a need for non-surgical interventional procedures to reduce pain or treat problem areas. At Delaware Back Pain & Sports Rehabilitation Centers, we have Interventional Physiatrists  as well as Anesthesiologist who specialize in pain management on staff to help you receive the care you need to get you better faster. When patients have persistent pain problems, we offer diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures that can help determine the pain source, as well as decrease chronic and lingering pain conditions.

What is an Interventional Physiatrist?

An Interventional Physiatrist is a medical doctor that completed fellowship training in diagnostic and therapeutic pain procedures. They are able to perform specialized spinal injections and procedures to help treat various conditions such as herniated discs and spinal stenosis. They utilize these skills and procedures in conjunction with treatments such as physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, and medications to manage various neurological and musculoskeletal problems.

What is a Pain Management Anesthesiologist?

A Pain Management Anesthesiologist is a medical doctor that completed a fellowship training in pain management and is Board Certified in Anesthesiology.  These doctors are part of our multidisciplinary team at Delaware Back Pain & Sports Rehabilitation Centers.  They treat patients by administering complex injections using fluoroscopic guidance to help minimize pain.  Their treatments can be used along with additional treatment modalities to improve neurological and musculoskeletal problems.

Some of the most common conditions treated are:

  • Degenerative Disc Disease - Spine Degeneration
