Chiropractic Care in Delaware

Experienced Chiropractors in Delaware

Neck & Back Pain Treatment

The structure of the spine is intricate, including 24 bones (vertebrae) with a soft, gel-like cushion in between (discs), connective tissues, joints, muscles, and nerves. The spinal cord transmits nerve impulses throughout the entire body. Back pain and neck pain can be caused by pinched nerves, inflamed muscles or tendons, misaligned vertebrae, or ruptured discs. When this happens, you may have pain that radiates to your arms and legs. In severe cases, spinal pain can be disabling making it difficult to move or do anything.

A chiropractor is trained to pinpoint the cause of neck and back pain by doing a physical examination of your spine, and understanding exactly how the pain impacts your life. An X-ray and/or a MRI may be necessary to check for abnormalities in your spinal column. Once a diagnosis is determined, your chiropractor can begin treatment.

At Delaware Back Pain & Sports Rehabilitation Centers, our Chiropractic staff has expanded their scope of care to treat patients by becoming certified in many other treatments to enhance patient care by becoming certified in Acupuncture, Nutrition, and are registered as Certified Medical Examiners with the Department of Transportation.

Chiropractors treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Neck Pain and Back pain
  • Joint pain and stiffness
  • Arm and leg pain
  • Headaches
  • Sciatica
  • Disc problems
  • Muscle spasms
  • Sleep apnea

Chiropractic treatment has a cumulative effect, so it can take several adjustments to get relief. The chiropractor can manually adjust your spine to correct any misalignment. Treatments are more intense and frequent in the beginning.  You may notice some discomfort between sessions as your back is adjusting to a proper alignment. Within a few weeks, you will start to notice the benefits, and adjustments can be fewer and easier.

A chiropractor may also recommend additional treatments to enhance the results of your chiropractic care. Examples include:

  • Laser therapy
  • Graston Technique®
  • Anti-gravity treadmill (AlterG®)
  • Myofascial release
  • 3D active traction
  • Ultrasound-guided injections
  • Acupuncture
  • Massage therapy

Chiropractic care is highly individualized.  Let our talented chiropractors help you get relief from your pain.
