“Listening is vital to effective treatment. When you see me, I won’t just ask what’s wrong with a certain area of your body and how you injured it, I will ask how it’s affecting your life as a whole. For example, having back pain can prevent you from washing your car, lifting groceries, throwing a football, gardening, picking up your grandchild, and a lot more. These are the things that you want to get back to doing on a regular basis. By fully understanding both your physical and emotional needs, I am better able to design a customized treatment plan leading to your recovery.

I’ve been fascinated with two things ever since I was a child: science and helping people. This led me to become an Eagle Scout and volunteer at both psychiatric hospitals and a children’s heart hospital. I eventually coupled my love for science and helping people by becoming a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist.

I feel privileged that I am able to provide patients with leading-edge care. I educate them and encourage their involvement throughout their treatment. I have always found that lasting progress occurs when we’re working as a team with the patient fully informed on their condition.”
